Bruce Grey MP Welcomes Funding To Protect The Great Lakes From Invasive Species

Bruce Grey Owen Sound MP Larry Miller welcomes the federal government's announcement to provide $8 million over two years to combat the spread of the invasive Sea Lamprey.
The Great Lakes Fishery Commission will use the money to maintain and improve low head physical barriers, and rehabilitate dams to also play a role in Sea Lamprey control.
Miller says he was disappointed when the funding was not originally included in the 2016 Federal Budget, so he asked the minister about it during Question period last week.
He welcomes the badly needed funding, and quick response.  Miller says it is also important to protect the great lakes from other invasive species like the Asian Carp.
