Preparations Underway For Owen Sound's New Food Forest

A tree planting marks the beginning of a new food forest in Owen Sound.

The Canadian Mental Health Association Grey Bruce is planning the edible urban forest next to its garden in St. George's Park.

The area will feature native trees, a fruit orchard, a labyrinth of edible plants, additional raised beds for produce, and an outdoor classroom. The organization expects to take about three years to create the space, which will also include a new storage shed, fencing, and seasonal washrooms.
