Heat Alert A Warm Welcome To Summer

With a heat warning still in place for most of Midwestern Ontario, Environment Canada says we could see temperatures well into low to mid 30 C on Sunday.

And according to one Environment Canada spokesperson, it's going to be a warm one.

"We've still got the heat warning in effect for a good portion of Midwestern Ontario; for today we're we're forecasting highs of 30 C to 32 C and then again for Monday we're forecasting similar temperatures, again, low 30s C," says Dave Rodgers, a meteorologist with Environment Canada.

However, there is some good news. A cold front is expected to move into the region sometime tomorrow afternoon and with it comes a bit of relief from the hot, humid weather; but along with that cold front comes some unsettling weather.

"Later in the day Monday we're going to have a cold front go through and that should put an end to the hot and sticky weather that we're seeing," adds Rodgers. "Tuesday we're looking at more seasonable temperatures, 23 C to 25 C kind of thing for Tuesday's high temperatures."

Summer officially arrives on Monday.
