Gorrie Cyclist Airlifted After Collision With Garbage Truck

A cyclist from Gorrie was transported to hospital by air ambulance following a collision this morning on Harriston Road near Fordwich.
The 29 year old woman remains in hospital with non life threatening injuries after this morning's collision just north of Fordwich.
Huron OPP, Wellington Paramedics and Howick Fire personnel responded to the scene one kilometre east of Fordwich Line about 10am.
Investigators found an eastbound garbage truck collided with the eastbound cyclist, throwing her off the road and into  the ditch.

The crash remains under investigation and anyone with information is asked to contact the Huron County OPP Detachment by calling 1-888-310-1122 or (519) 524-8314. Should you wish to remain anonymous, you may call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477), where you may be eligible to receive a cash reward of up to $2,000.

Harriston Road remains closed between Fordwich Line and Malcolm Line. To avoid delays please alternate routes.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
