Weather Expert And Storm Hunter Guests At Perth County Workshop

Two of the country's weather experts will be in Stratford on July 14 for a special workshop on severe weather.

The Perth County Weather Aware Workshop will feature Environment Canada Weather Preparedness Meteorologist Geoff Coulson and Storm Hunter Mark Robinson. It takes place at the Perth County Paramedics Headquarters in Stratford.

As Dave Colvin, emergency management coordinator for Perth County, points out severe weather is one of the largest risks in this part of the province.

He says the upcoming workshop is all about educating people.

"We're ramping up our public education program and severe weather is one of our themes," says Colvin. "We do seminars mainly for our own emergency response people; this is the first time that we've done something for the general public and also for some of the volunteer firefighters and other off duty responders that want to attend."
