UPDATE: Fatal Off-Road Vehicle Crash Under Investigation

One person is dead while another is unharmed following a late night off-road vehicle crash in Huron County.

Huron County OPP along with members of the OPP West Region Technical Traffic Collision Investigation Team, Goderich Fire Department and local paramedics were called to the scene just after 11:30pm Friday night to an area just off Hwy. 8, west of Kitchigami Rd. near Clinton.

Police say a John Deere utility terrain vehicle was heading eastbound off the road in a grassy area when it dropped into a deep ditch and rolled over.

The driver of the vehicle, 51-year-old Nancy Bedard of Central Huron, was pronounced dead at the scene. The male passenger was not hurt in the crash.

An autopsy has been scheduled for Saturday and the crash remains under investigation.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
