Howick Issues Partial Burn Ban

Howick Township Fire Department has put a partial burn ban into effect due to the lack of significant rainfall.

Chief Shawn Edwards says the long range forecast is for continued dry hot weather.

All rural open air burning will not be allowed until further notice.

Recreational camp fires are permitted in a pit that is under a meter in diameter. The pit must be located 5m from anything combustible and never left unattended.

All fires must be completely extinguished when finished.

Howick fire will monitor conditions and update the burn ban as required.
