West Hill Hosts Farewell Celebration

A final farewell celebration takes place at West Hill Secondary School this evening.

The "Honouring Our Past" event begins at 6:30 in the west gym.

Students, staff, alumni and the community are all welcome to connect with fellow Raiders, walk the halls, and visit with former teachers and alumni.

West Hill opened in 1960, and will become Owen Sound District Secondary School in the fall.

Students from the closing Owen Sound Collegiate and Vocational Institute will join former West Hill students at the city's single secondary school in the fall.

OSCVI will be renovated into an elementary school.

New military crosswalk in Sarnia to be unveiled

As part of a partnership between the Sarnia Legion Branch 62 and City of Sarnia, an unveiling ceremony will be held at the corner of Christina Street and Wellington Street on Sunday, June 7, at 2 p.m.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
