Cattle Die In Londesborough Barn Fire

Seven cattle have perished in a barn fire in Londesborough.

Firefighters from North Huron, Central Huron and Wingham responded to the blaze on Londesborough Rd. near Dutch Line, around 2:30pm on Wednesday. Fire officials say the barn was fully engulfed when firefighters arrived at the scene.

As well, electrical wires were arcing on the metal siding of the barn, which made fighting the fire more difficult. Hydro One was forced to dispatch crews to disconnect the power.

One firefighter was taken to hospital to be treated for heat stress, and was later discharged.

Damage from the fire is estimated at less than $150,000.

The cause remains undetermined due to the extent of the damage, however, the fire is not considered suspicious.
