Woman In Wheelchair Struck By Vehicle

An Owen Sound woman has been charged after another woman in a wheelchair was struck by a vehicle.

Owen Sound police say on Saturday around 3pm, a 51-year-old woman from Owen Sound was heading north on 3rd Ave. E when she was struck by a Dodge Ram pickup truck that was making a left turn onto 9th St. E.

The woman was knocked out of her motorized wheelchair and taken to hospital to be treated for minor injuries.

The driver of the truck, a 73-year-old Owen Sound woman, has been charged with making an unsafe turn.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
