Burn Ban In Effect For All of Wellington County

Wellington County has joined a growing list of midwestern Ontario municipalities instituting a burn ban.

Wellington County Fire Chiefs have made the decision to prohibit all open air burning for the entire county.

The ban will remain in effect until further notice.

An Open Air Burn is any fire outside a building, including bonfires, campfires, burn barrels, open burn permits and outdoor fireplaces.

Fines are in place for violations, and residents are asked to call 9-1-1 immediately to report fires in the open.
