Woman Critical After Being Struck at Chatsworth Raceway

A 50-year-old Algonquin Highlands woman is in critical condition at a London area hospital after being struck by an off road vehicle during a race over the Canada Day long weekend.

Grey Highlands OPP say it happened around 1pm on Saturday, July 2nd, 2016; the woman, working as a volunteer flag person, was struck by a Kawasaki Off Road Vehicle at the Moto Park Raceway in Chatsworth.

Police say the victim's injuries are serious, however, the 21-year-old rider of the vehicle was not injured.

While the Ministry of Labour was notified, police say no charges have been or will be laid.
