Burn Ban Spreads Across Midwestern Ontario

Perth County has now issued a fire ban for the entire region.

All open air fires are prohibited everywhere in the county including outdoor fireplaces and campfires.

Cooking fires are allowed in approved campgrounds.

The ban is being imposed due to extreme dryness of vegetation, and wild-land fire indicators at extreme levels.

Farmers are encouraged to exercise extreme caution combining.

Call 911 if you discover an open air fire.

Wellington County has also issued a burn ban for the entire county.

South Bruce, North and Southern Bruce Peninsula also have burn bans in place. In Huron County, burn bans have been issued for North Huron, Howick, and Morris Turnberry.
