Bluewater Signs Five Year Lease For Bayfield Post Office

The Municipality of Bluewater is in a position to recover some of its costs with a new lease agreement with Canada Post.

The Municipality had been leasing property to Canada Post for its post office on the main street of Bayfield for one dollar a year.   But cleaning and maintenance was costing the municipality about 27-hundred dollars a year.

The municipality decided to approach Canada Post with a proposal for $200 a month, and Canada Post agreed.

Mayor Tyler Hessel says it still doesn't cover all of their costs, but it's close.  He is pleased that it's a five year deal.
