Wellington North Adopts Door-to-Door Sales Bylaw

Wellington North’s new bylaw regulating door-to-door sales in a thinly-disguised ban.

Council heard that an outright ban is not legal, however the new bylaw requires anyone wishing to go door-to-door to produce a written consent form from everyone they plan to visit.   Only then will a license be issued.

Wellington North Clerk Karen Wallace says the new bylaw will not stop charities, service clubs and groups such as Girl Guides from going door-to-door.
