AMGH Continues Search For New CEO

The Alexandra Marine and General Hospital in Goderich is once again without a CEO.

The Chair of the AMGH Board, Barb Major-McEwan explains the board decided not to continue the contract of interim CEO Colin Goodfellow, who had replaced interim CEO Bill Thibert at the end of May.  Thibert came out of retirement to help out.

Major-McEwan says the board felt that there are fewer meetings during the summer and the workload didn't justify keeping an interim CEO.

She adds their focus at this time is on the search for a permanent CEO. They are working with a consultant in that search and they're on track to meet their target of having a person in place by the end of August or early September.

Major-McEwan adds it is a complicated process and they want to make sure they get the right person, so they are not going to rush and hire someone just for the sake of filling the position.
