Two Children Bitten By Dogs In Separate Incidents

Grey Bruce Health Unit officials looking for the owner of a large black dog reportedly involved in a biting incident at the Meaford Baseball diamonds on Margaret Street late Saturday afternoon.

The Health Unit says the dog lunged forward and bit a female child that was playing on the ground.

Officials want to confirm that the dog is not infected with rabies.

Another dog bite incident occured Sunday evening at a home on Wellington Road 16 in Centre Wellington Township.

A 9-year-old boy was taken to hospital for medical treatment after being attacked while playing in a backyard with his friend.

Both the S.P.C.A. and Wellington County OPP are investigating.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
