Holstein Park To Get Infrastructure Boost

The park in the village of Holstein is in for a $180,000 face-lift thanks in part to a Canada 150 infrastructure grant of $72,000.

The municipality of Southgate will be contributing $107,000.

Work will include renovations of the washroom and rebuilding the gazebo. There will also be an extension of the park trail to link to the Holstein school.

Work will be carried out in the spring of 2017.

New military crosswalk in Sarnia to be unveiled

As part of a partnership between the Sarnia Legion Branch 62 and City of Sarnia, an unveiling ceremony will be held at the corner of Christina Street and Wellington Street on Sunday, June 7, at 2 p.m.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
