More Huron Communities Looking At Shared Services

The mayor of South Huron says her council is interested in hearing more about the possibility of sharing services with neighbouring municipalities.

Huron East Mayor Bernie MacLennan and Bluewater Mayor Tyler Hessel made a presentation to South Huron council on Monday and talked about some of things they discussed about sharing at an earlier joint meeting.

The earlier meeting also included Central Huron.

Maureen Cole says she's confident Bluewater, Huron East and Central Huron will find some savings in sharing services and she believes South Huron council should at least investigate the advantages of being included in that group.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
