Clinton/Kincardine Baseball Camp a Success

Huron-Bruce M-P Ben Lobb says this year's summer baseball camp was a huge success.

They expanded the camp to locations in Clinton and a new one in Kincardine.   This is the fourth year for Clinton and the combined camps provided instruction for 250 kids, 140 of them in Clinton.

The instructors this year were former Cy Young Award winning pitcher Brett Saberhagen and Lobb's former NCAA coach Mark Brew.   Lobb says Saberhagen raved about the beautiful scenery and the hospitality of the people he met and has already told his agent he'll come back any time.

Lobb adds he was also impressed with the calibre of ball players and ball diamonds in Huron and Bruce.

Lobb also points out aside from getting instruction a start like Bret Saberhagen the fact that Mark Brew is an NCAA head coach means that if he sees a player he likes that play could end up going to college in the U-S on a baseball scholarship.
