Two Women Rescued From Maitland River in Goderich

Two young women were rescued from the Maitland River in Goderich and taken to hospital by air ambulance Tuesday afternoon.

Kristen Way and her father were cycling on the trail above the river when they heard the cries for help.

Kristen says the women had climbed over the guard rail and fencing on the Menesetung Bridge and fell into the river.

Two men swam out to the victims and held them above water until paramedics arrived.

OPP say a 17 year old Bluewater female was rushed to hospital by air ambulance where she has serious, but not life threatening injuries.

 A 20 year old Goderich woman is in hospital with serious injuries.
OPP continue to investigate to find out how the women fell.
Constable Jamie Stanley says the Menesetung bridge is open and safe.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
