House Fire Causes $500K In Damages Near Stratford

Fire officials are investigating following a blaze at a single family home southwest of Stratford.

The fire was first reported just before 3pm on Friday on Perth Line 29 between Road 125 and Road 130.  Sebringville, Milverton and Shakespeare stations all responded to the blaze.

Fire Chief Bill Hunter says damages are pegged at around $500,000 and no one was injured in the blaze.

Perth Line 29 was closed between Road 125 and Road 130 while fire crews were at the scene.

The cause of the fire is unknown at this time but an investigation is ongoing.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
