Owen Sound Police Investigate Theft Across the Street

Owen Sound Police didn't have far to go to investigate a call about a man trying to steal a bicycle.

The crime scene was right across the street from the police station on 2nd Avenue West.

Police walked over to investigate about 11am Saturday and found a man trying to disguise himself hiding behind a large spruce tree on the front lawn.

However, the 3 metre square lawn made it an easy search for officers.

Police found a duffel bag containing various items gathered from the front lawn of the residence.  A man was arrested for possession of stolen property and possession of a small amount of marijuana.
