Minto Honours War Amps Volunteer

A 13-year-old Minto farm boy was recognized by Minto council Tuesday for his volunteer work with the War Amps Child Amputee Program.

Nathan Van Staveren was born a double arm amputee, but it hasn’t stopped him from living an active life, including learning how to drive the farm tractor using his feet.

In presenting Nathan with a certificate of recognition, Minto Mayor George Bridge said the young boy has made "a positive impact on our community and to other child amputees" by helping and encouraging fellow amputees across the province.
