Social Housing Boost For Grey County

Grey County is about to spend significant dollars on repairs to its social housing.

Housing Director Anne Marie Shaw says the work is much needed on things like roofing and energy efficiency.

She says they're getting $1.2-million in provincial and federal funding this year. That doubles the amount they usually spend.

"Certainly the province and, at this point, the federal government has stepped up and put towards it too so we're lucky we've got two funding partners at this time," says Shaw.

Grey County is hiring a full time technical supervisor to oversee the work.
