Brussels Minor Ball And Fire Department Get Fundraising Contributions

A fundraiser held in June for Brussels Minor Ball and the Brussels Fire Department raised just over $3,100.

The cheque was presented at a ceremony earlier this week.

The event was organized by Heather Dunbar on behalf of the fire department, and Mark Pennington from Brussels Minor Ball.

Dunbar says some of the highlights of the day included a Ford test drive put on by Leslie Motors, minor ball games throughout the day, a game between the Brussels Tigers and Wingham in the evening, and in the middle of the day the CKNX Classic Rockers team played against the Brussels Fire Department team.

Dunbar says half of the proceeds will go to Brussels Minor Ball and half to the Brussels Fire Department, and the fire department will spend their share on a generator, so that in the event of a power outage people would have a place to go that had power, and the generator would power the equipment in the first station if that was needed.
