Swimming Death In South Bruce Peninsula

A Guelph woman is dead after being pulled from Lake Huron at a beach in South Bruce Peninsula.

Monday morning, a 57-year-old woman was reported to be in medical distress while swimming in the water off Sauble Beach. She was swimming with a flotation device at the time and a family member pulled her to shore.

The woman has been identified as Becky McArthur of Guelph.

A postmortem examination has been scheduled.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
