The weather agency say around 25 to 50 mm of rainfall was expected in the Mildmay to Walkerton areas, as well as 90 km/h winds.
Environment Canada says a possible funnel cloud associated with this thunderstorm may also have been spotted just north of Walkerton.
People in southern Huron and Lambton counties are being told to limit their time outside.
