Strathroy Terror Suspect Died of Gunshot Wound

A post mortem examination has found that a terror suspect who died in a police confrontation in Strathroy was killed by a gunshot wound.

24 year old Aaron Driver was confronted outside a home in Strathroy August 10th after the RCMP arrived to investigate a suspected threat to national security.

He was pronounced dead after a bomb was detonated in a taxi cab.

The Ontario Provincial Police Criminal Investigations Branch has been asked to assume the investigation into the death of the suspect.

OPP and Strathroy Caradoc Police continue to investigate the incident under the direction of the CIB Detective Inspector Brad Nunn.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
