Wellington North Contracts

A new three-year agreement has been reached between Wellington North and 17 of its 35 fulltime employees who are members of CUPE.

It gives most of the 17 non supervisory employees an extra 1.5% the first year, 1.6% the second year and 1.7% the third year.

CAO Michael Givens said the negotiations went smoothly and the union requests were reasonable.

New military crosswalk in Sarnia to be unveiled

As part of a partnership between the Sarnia Legion Branch 62 and City of Sarnia, an unveiling ceremony will be held at the corner of Christina Street and Wellington Street on Sunday, June 7, at 2 p.m.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
