Van Lands in the Avon River in Stratford

Stratford Police were called Sunday after a van landed in the Avon River.

Police, fire and EMS workers responded to the scene about 10:30am on Lake Side Drive.

Police say a 50 year old Mitchell man struck a parked vehicle , veered off the road and into the water.

The man suffered minor injuries, and was charged with Careless Driving.

Stratford fire cleaned up the debris and made sure no contaminants leaked into the river.

New military crosswalk in Sarnia to be unveiled

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
