Arrest Made in Saugeen Shores Vehicle Break-Ins

A 17-year-old Saugeen Shores man has been arrested and charged in connection with a number of vehicle break-ins and theft(s) from vehicles over recent weeks.

Saugeen Shores Police say on (Tuesday) August 16th, 2016  a resident residing on Bricker Street in Port Elgin noticed a male dressed in black trying to enter his vehicle just after 4am;  he yelled at the unknown person and the suspect ran from the scene.

Then just after 7am the same morning, a resident on Maple Drive reported seeing someone in the backyard also dressed in black wearing a ski mask - the suspect also scared away.

The 17-year-old accused, who cannot be named, has been charged with 5 counts of Fail to comply with undertaking, Possession of property obtained by crime under $5000 and Theft Under $5000 from a motor vehicle.

While no further comments or details were issued, Police say they are working to identify the victims of the stolen goods.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
