Crash Involving Buggy And Car Injures Three People

Three people were hurt and a horse had to be euthanized after a car hit a horse-drawn buggy north of Millbank.

Perth County OPP say the collision happened on Perth Rd 121 around 5:00pm Monday.

Police say a northbound Honda Civic neared the buggy and suddenly swerved towards it. The car hit the back of the buggy, shattering it on impact. It continued into the east ditch and came to rest in a field.

The 62-year old operator of the buggy and a 61-year old passenger were taken to hospital with minor injuries.

The 44-year old driver of the Honda, from Hanover, also suffered minor injuries and is charged with careless driving.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
