North Perth Residents Discuss Wind Project At Ag Hall Tomorrow

A group of concerned citizens host a public meeting tomorrow about plans for a Wind turbine in Mapleton Township.

The Municipality of North Perth objects to the new FIT contract awarded to Moorefield Wind for a Turbine in Mapleton Township.

Perth Wellington MPP Randy Pettapiece has passed along the municipalities concerns to the Minister of Environment and Climate Change.

Pettapiece says the turbine at 8659 Concession 12 was approved without consultation with North Perth.

However the transmission station for the project, and construction, will take place in North Perth.

Pettapiece calls it a blatant disregard for the the views of municipalities.

Pettapiece also forwarded and supported a North Perth resolution against the IESO approval process using Aboriginal support as justification for projects that will occur no where near those aboriginal communities.

The meeting takes place at 8pm tomorrow at the Ag Hall in Listowel
