Hwy. 86 Crash Injures North Huron Woman

A 25-year-old North Huron woman was extricated from her vehicle and taken to hospital after a crash on Perth Line 86 west of Listowel Thursday morning.

Police say the woman was driving east in an Audi when she collided with a westbound Ford F250 pickup.

Police say the Audi hit the gravel, then overcompensated and swerved into oncoming traffic, before veering back towards the westbound lane. However, the oncoming pickup truck tried to avoid a collision by also veering into the westbound lane.

The North Huron resident was taken to local hospital, then transferred to hospital in London with major injuries.

The 42-year-old Cambridge man in the pick-up truck was treated for minor injuries.

Perth Line 86 was closed for about three hours for clean up between Road 167 and Road 171.
