Stratford Man Drowned At Grand Bend Beach

Lambton OPP have released the name and cause of death of a man pulled from Lake Huron last Thursday.

Police say a post mortem has determined that 64-year-old Walter Sugden of Stratford drowned at Grand Bend Beach August 18.

OPP, EMS and the Grand Bend Fire Department responded to the beach around 8pm, after a man was reportedly pulled from the water unconscious and unresponsive.

Lambton OPP say good samaritans performed CPR and efforts were made to revive Sugden, however he was later pronounced dead at hospital.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
