Huron East Hoping For More New Businesses

The Economic Development Officer for Huron East says all five finalists in this year's Win This Space contest have tremendous potential.

Jan Hawley says there's no doubt in her mind even the four that did not win will be starting up a business somewhere in Huron County.

Hawley says she and her team will start by fine-tuning the business plans of the four finalists.   She adds starting a business is an intimidating experience so having someone support you can be a huge advantage in getting through the first year.

The winner of this year's 'Win This Space' contest gets rent-free storefront space in Vanastra for one year.   Gerrie Huenemoerder plans to use that to set up a jewelry production business.
