Suspect Evades Capture in Listowel

Provincial police are looking for a suspect who managed to evade capture Wednesday morning in Listowel.

Police say an off duty officer noticed a man on a bicycle dragging a kayak near the Community Garden on Nelson Ave. S.

The off duty officer called it in, but the suspect escaped down Kincaid St. and through residential backyards.

Police say the kayak had been stolen from an outdoor fenced off area at the Listowel Canadian Tire store.

Anyone with information on the suspect's identity is asked to call police.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
