Gas Line Ruptured In Village Of Blyth

A backhoe struck a gas line on Queen and Thuell streets in Blyth on Saturday.

The Fire Department of North Huron reported the incident around 2pm. Residents were forced to evacuate the area due to a gas leak.

Union Gas stopped the leak around 3:30pm and residents were allowed to return to their homes shortly after.

North Huron Fire Chief David Sparling is reminding people to call for utility locates before they dig.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
