Drivers Urged to Be Cautious During Harvest Time

It's harvest time throughout most of Midwestern Ontario and Provincial Police are sending out a reminder to motorists to be mindful and keep an eye out for farmers out harvesting their crops.

Drivers are cautioned to slow down in rural areas, especially in and around farms where large equipment may be operating on or near the roads.

Drive below the posted speed limit, do not tailgate farm tractors or combines as the operator may not be able to see you and only pass when it is safe to do so.

Police say most collisions involving large pieces of farm equipment typically result in fatalities or severe injuries.
