Rollover Crash In Goderich Injures Two

Two Huron County men remain in hospital following a single-vehicle rollover late Wednesday night in Goderich.

Paramedics, police, and fire personnel were called to the crash scene just before 11:30pm on Bayfield Rd., between Bennett St. E and Blake St. E.

The driver of the Chrysler Sebring managed to free himself from the wreck, however his passenger had to be extricated by firefighters.

The passenger, a 24-year-old Goderich man, remains in hospital with serious but non-life threatening injuries. The driver, a 22-year-old man from Central Huron, is being treated for non-life threatening injuries.

Police say it appears the car was northbound on Bayfield Rd. when it struck a hydro pole. The out-of-control vehicle then hit the raised portion of a driveway and went airborne.  It came to rest on its roof on the front lawn of a Bayfield Road residence. The car was destroyed.

Police say excessive speed and alcohol are believed to be factors.
