Meaford Area Still Needs More Doctors And Nurses

The physician recruitment team for North-East Grey Medical Clinics Incorporated is continuing its search for doctors and nurse practitioners willing to set up in Meaford.

NEGMCI chairperson Janice Chappelle says the board is now looking for doctors and nurse practitioners willing to work as a locum for those Meaford residents without a doctor.

"Any Meaford resident whose doctor has retired or will soon retire may come to the clinic and be looked after by a locum," she says.

Chappelle also hopes the doctor or nurse practitioner will later decide to stay on and buy a home in Meaford.

The Don Bumstead and Family Medical Centre, as it is known, was officially opened in September 2014. The centre is located on Hwy. 26 just west of Meaford.

Georgian Bay Physiotherapy is also located in the centre.
