Minto Grants Help Businesses Spruce Up

Several Minto businesses will be getting a new look, thanks to municipal grants.

Minto council has approved a couple of facade improvement grants.

Sind Investments will receive $5,335 to improve facades on properties at 237 and 247 Main St. W in Palmerston.

237 Main St. W will be the new site of the Family Home Health Care Centre.  Work includes painting, windows and stucco repair. The Family Home Health Care Centre will also receive a sign grant of $814.

Kemspton and Werth Realty is located at 247 Main St. W.

A $1,500 grant to Harry Stone's Pizza and Burger in Harriston will help pay for some new ivory, red and grey paint.

The former Greenley's Restaurant in downtown Clifford has been sold to the previous owners of the Redwood Restaurant. James and Jo-Anne Weltz will open Gramma Jo's this fall.

They will receive a $1,000 grant for a new sign.

The property owners have to put up matching funds.

New military crosswalk in Sarnia to be unveiled

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
