Neon Night In Stratford Supports Childhood Cancer Services

The Canadian Cancer Society Huron-Perth Community Office hosts the first annual Neon Night 5K in Stratford Friday night.

It's being billed as a vibrant and luminous way for friends and families to promote good health, happiness and community giving.

The non competitive 5 km evening walk or run along the riverside trail in Stratford.

Participants will sport neon, glow sticks and lots of energy as they ignite the night to help fund childhood cancer research and Wheels of Hope transportation services.

The five km fun run or walk is for all ages and starts at 7pm at the Optimist Hall. Participants are encouraged to wear their brightest clothes

Research has helped decrease the overall childhood cancer death rate by almost half since 1985.

Last year, 11 local families received help for 708 trips to cancer related appointments.

New military crosswalk in Sarnia to be unveiled

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
