OPP Golden Helmets Roar Into St. Marys Saturday

They're proud, they're loud, and they're rolling into Perth County Saturday.

The 17-member OPP Golden Helmets Precision Motorcycle Team will thunder into St. Marys with their Harley Davidson Police Special Motorcycles for a free public performance.

They've been around since 1963, performing in communities and wowing audiences across the province.

"It's pretty incredible what they take these machines through in terms of complex patterns and all kinds of speed and agility and sometimes you wonder how they don't collide," says Constable Kees Wijnands.

The performance gets under way at 2:30pm Saturday afternoon on Queen St. E, which will be closed between Water St. and Church St. for the event.

Prior to the performance, the OPP Golden Helmets will stop at the "Evans Touch The Truck Event" at the Milt Dunnell Field.
