Hospice Need Identified in Kincardine Area

A Kincardine-based group is trying to bridge a gap in end-of-life care.

The Huron Shores Hospice Steering Committee wants to bring residential hospice services to southern Bruce County.

It would be a home-like setting where adults and children with life-limiting illnesses receive end-of-life care.

The only service alternatives currently available are hospital care or the Residential Hospice of Grey Bruce in Owen Sound.

A public meeting has been scheduled for Tuesday, September 20th at 7:00 p.m. at the Davidson Centre in Kincardine.

Speakers will address the elements of palliative and hospice care and the plans being developed for residential hospice for Kincardine and area.
