Food Bank Kicks Off Hunger Week With 2nd Annual Bike Ride

The Huron County Food Bank is holding its second annual fundraising bike ride this weekend to kick off Hunger Week.

Cyclists of all experience levels can participate in either a 10 km, 30km or 60km rideSaturday morning.  Chair of the Board of Directors, Janet Boot, will be riding a tandem bike with her daughter along a route linking some of the County's food banks.

 The first group biking 60km leaves at 9:00 a.m.  Saturday, September 17th from the Huron County Food Bank Distribution Centre in Centralia. They will be biking a 30km route twice. At 9:30 a.m. the riders doing the 30km route and 10km route will leave the distribution centre.

There is a celebration barbeque for all riders at the distribution cnetre after the ride. The event will take place rain or shine and financial donations will be collected along the route.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
