Youth Committee Forming In Goderich

A youth committee is taking shape in Goderich.

Economic Development and Tourism Co-ordinator James Cox says the idea behind the project is to engage the youth of Goderich in making the town more attractive to young people, but he says the specific goals will be driven by the youth.

The migration of young people from a small rural-based community is normal, but Cox says they hope to establish a connection with them, so that they feel they can return to their hometown for the opportunities that exist in Huron County.

Cox says the success of the Fanshawe College campus in Goderich is proof that location is no longer a factor.

They have received expressions of interest from some young people and Cox says they're still looking for more who are interested in sitting on the committee.
