Meaford Cyclist Critical After Collision

A Meaford man remains in critical condition after he was struck by a pickup truck while riding his bike.

The Ontario Provincial Police say on Tuesday around 6:40am, a Dodge Ram pick-up truck struck the cyclist on Grey Rd. 112 (Range Rd.), in Meaford.

The driver of the truck, a 57-year old Owen Sound man, called 911 and provided first aid to the cyclist until emergency crews arrived at the scene.

The cyclist, a 55-year-old Meaford man, was taken to hospital and later airlifted to a London hospital where he remains in critical condition.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
