Rockwood Terrace Rally In Durham Attracts Hundreds

Organizers of a rally in Durham Wednesday say over 300 residents and supporters attended.

A statement from Dan Sullivan says the message to politicians in Grey County and West Grey is that the 100 long-term-care beds need to remain at Rockwood Terrace.

The Save Rockwood Terrace group says that would allow current and future residents to remain in their life-long home community, close to family and friends.

Supporters also says the facility provides essential jobs and economic spinoffs, while attracting new retirees to the area.

The group points out a nursing home helps retain attract family doctors who want to continue local care for their patients who are elderly or may have complex needs.
